As one who has never experienced such a thing, but has many friends and relatives who have, across many wars and military operations, I am humbled and thankful every day for their dedication and humility.
Not everyone serves, but everyone is touched in one way or another by those that do or have: family, friends, neighbors, co-workers.
As we honor the men and women around the globe that have given their lives in pursuit of freedom, we do so in many ways. The National Pastime stands tall at the center of those traditions.
