The Odds Are Not Looking Good

Being a baseball fan in Missouri has been fun over the last decade. The St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals have given fans a lot to cheer for. Now it appears that they have a common enemy in mind, or at least a common city to despise.

The Chicago Cubs and White Sox are both showing early signs of success in the 2016 season. Both Chicago teams sit atop their respective divisions, which happen to be the divisions the Cardinals and Royals reside in as well.

The odds are stacked in favor of the windy city currently as well. The Cubs are the odds-on favorite to win the World Series with 12/5 odds. The White Sox are not far off at 10/1 odds. The Cardinals and Royals? Kansas City comes in at 25/1 odds while the Redbirds are at 30/1 odds. Indeed, MLB lines from sites like RealBet are showing a challenging few months ahead for the local teams.

As we look to turn the calendar page to the month of June, it’s clear there is still a lot of baseball to be played. Trades, injuries, streaks and slumps can drastically change the outlook of the season. The Cardinals and Royals are far from eliminated at this point of the year. A few changes and a good streak of luck and they could find themselves back in the hunt pretty quickly.

Still, the teams need some life. They need an injection of hope. The odds may not be favorable, but they could provide a nice payday for someone if the teams can overcome.
