In just under a month, this very website will reach the five-year mark for existence. It seems hard to believe that it has been here for that long producing content, featuring many writers and continuing to bring a unique feel to the world of baseball new media sites.
We’ve been through a site re-design. We’ve watched numerous partners come and go. We’ve found a home on the front page of some of the most prominent baseball sites in the world. Along the way, more than 100 writers have brought you their thoughts on the sport we all love. These articles have been read more than 1 million times.
With this post, we reach a new milestone.
This post is the 3,000th post on the site. A true baseball number, 3,000 means something significant to the game we cover. I’m not sure 3,000 posts carries quite the same luster as it would if it fell in the category of hits or strikeouts. I’m not sure anyone else will even be impressed by it.
But I am.
I am extremely proud of all the writers, readers and fans that have helped this site reach this milestone. The tireless effort of so many people that I have had the pleasure to work with in this little corner of the internet is outstanding. Along the way, some of our writers have moved on to bigger and better things. We even had one of our former writers, Jacob Mayer, reach Major League Baseball this year as he worked a weekend series with the Atlanta Braves public relations.
I sincerely hope we can continue to bring you 3,000 more posts over five more years. I hope you’ll continue to read us as we reach for more milestones along the way.
As always, thank you for reading, commenting, writing and supporting i70baseball.
