Kansas City Royals: Five early observations from 2014

The Kansas City Royals started the season 4-7, but have won five of their last six games, to bring them just one game back of first place Detroit. It’s way too early in the season to pay too much attention to standings, but the AL Central looks like it could be an interesting race this year. Only 2.5 games separate last place Cleveland and first place Detroit. The Royals should be contenders in the division all season long. Here are five early observations from Kansas City’s season so far:
