Pitcher Aaron Crow to Participate in Holiday Festivities

KANSAS CITY, MO (November 11, 2011) – The Kansas City Royals will once again reach out to area families in need this holiday season by volunteering for the sixth-straight year at the City Union Mission on Tuesday, November 15.

A group of Royals associates, headed by Senior Vice President-Business Operations Kevin Uhlich, will be serving a Thanksgiving feast at the Family Center, located at 1310 Wabash in Kansas City, Mo., beginning at noon. Meanwhile, Royals pitcher Aaron Crow and Royals associates will help serve meals at the Men’s Center, located at 1108 E. 10th St., at 12:30 p.m.

Since 1924, the City Union Mission has provided warm beds, nutritious food and a safe place for thousands of poverty stricken and homeless men, women and children in the Kansas City area. The Christian ministry receives no government support, but rather relies solely on support from individuals, churches, foundations, organizations and businesses. Through their two locations, which are both open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, City Union Mission offers half of the emergency shelter beds in downtown Kansas City.
