Naturals To Be Televised Regionally By KC Metro Sports
Kansas City cable channel to broadcast Aug. 6th and Aug. 8th games
SPRINGDALE, AR – Time Warner Cable Metro Sports, Cox Communications and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals are teaming up to televise two games live from Arvest Ballpark this weekend, the cable television outlets and the Kansas City Royals’ Double-A affiliate announced Wednesday.
The Naturals home games on Saturday, August 6th and Monday, August 8th will air across the region on Time Warner Cable Metro Sports in the Kansas City region, and also in areas of Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, and Iowa. Time Warner Cable Metro Sports is Kansas City’s 24-hour all-sports television network. Arrangements have been made for these broadcasts to be available locally on Jones TV (Channel 22 on Cox Cable in Northwest Arkansas).
“We are excited to be able to showcase Naturals baseball throughout the region,” said Naturals’ General Manager Eric Edelstein. “We hope fans locally will come out to be a part of the first fully-produced TV games in Arvest Ballpark history and we hope to put on a great show for fans watching on television throughout the region.”
The televised games will provide fans a glimpse of some of the top prospects in the Kansas City Royals’ system, ranked prior to the season as baseball’s best. The channel broadcast three games earlier this season for the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Royals’ Pacific Coast League club whose roster includes many former Naturals.
Both the Naturals and other teams in the Texas League have made improvements this season towards providing better television access to fans both within the region and across the world. Beginning with last week’s homestand, all Naturals home games are broadcast on the internet at Milb.tv. These internet broadcasts provide the team’s in house feed streamed with the live radio broadcast, featuring the play-by-play of Naturals’ Broadcaster Steven Davis.
Milb.tv also provides video feeds of the Naturals’ road contests in Tulsa and Corpus Christi, as well as the complete Triple-A slate including all Omaha Storm Chasers games. Next season, more Texas League teams are expected to be included in the service. Subscriptions for the remainder of this season are available for $19.99 at Milb.tv.
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and play at state-of-the-art Arvest Ballpark, located in Springdale. Visit our website, nwanaturals.com, for information on season tickets and ticket plans.
